The heirs of late Walmart founder Sam Walton are backing Hillary Clinton for president.
Collectively, the leading members of Arkansas' Walton family have given about $714,000 to the candidate and the Democratic Party during the current election cycle, federal records show.
The donations are an example of the longstanding ties between the Walton and Clinton families. It is an awkward situation for the candidate, a former Walmart board member, since most of her allies in organized labor and the broader liberal movement detest the Waltons, mainly because of the company's anti-union stance.

You walk into a WalMart Store and the cheap smell about knocks you out.
You could say that currency manipulation is a blanket tariff in itself.
So this is direct from a big horses mouth. Can’t put out his name but he is very well-known, openly hates Obama and is a Republican, one would think he would go Trump. He will publicly support Clinton, make news with his support, attend fundraisers, etc. The reason is, Hillary can be bought and she keeps her big donors happy with whatever favors they need. Who he will privately vote for is another matter.
When we finally got a local Target I wondered around in there trying
to find SOMETHING besides food products that was made inthe US.
The nearly 100% volume of Chinese made stuff was appaling.
Walmart still had some American produced merchandise.
WM also had guns and ammo. Have not seen ammo in a Target
since the 70s.
Empty Walmart shelves?
Don’t understand; what are you talking about?
Walmart Board of Directors on which Clinton served from 1986 to 1992.
Not much diversity there. :-)
.
Trump would be bad news for them in several ways. Old Sam’s spinning in his grave.
Hole in one. And don’t get me started on the ‘self service’ machines which are a shoplifter’s wet dream come to life. A local manager here boasted that they were theft-proof until someone put up a Youtube video of them walking out with over $100 of stuff either stolen or rung at lower prices.
It was pitifully easy. Swipe two thin things on top of the other and you just got a buy-one-get-one sale. You can swap the label of a can of $6 flaked crab meat with the label a can of .99 store-brand corn that is the same approximate weight; I’m told the ‘career lifters’ come with pre-peeled labels in bags. The machine has no way to tell if you’re really weighing a bag of peaches or a bag full of condoms and saying its peaches. And finally they usually have one or maybe two underpaid semi-slaves babysitting 8-12 machines that are used constantly for hours at a time in a crowded small area - even Batman couldn’t catch all the funny business.
The very EXISTENCE of a Wal-Mart is an absolute theft magnet now.
