Obama Nominates Possible First Muslim-American Judge to Federal Court

Muslim-American groups are applauding President Barack Obama's nomination of a Washington lawyer to serve in U.S. District Court — a move that could make him the first ever Muslim-American federal judge, according to advocates.

If confirmed, Abid Riaz Qureshi would sit on the District of Columbia's federal bench, the White House announced Tuesday. Qureshi, who graduated Harvard Law School in 1997, is a partner in the D.C. office of Latham & Watkins LLP, specializing in healthcare fraud, securities violations, and cases involving the False Claims Act, according to a White House statement.

"I am confident he will serve the American people with integrity and a steadfast commitment to justice," Obama said.

Muslim-American organizations hailed the historic announcement.

Nomination is a far cry from confirmation.

Of course, the individual COULD be installed on a recess appointment, but the appointment ends with the Current Occupant’s term.

Then he needs to be asked, just as Christian nominees have been, whether his primary loyalty would be to America and the Constitution or to Islam and the Koran. It would be interesting to hear him try to finesse his answer, considering that if he says Islam, no way can he approbed, but if he doesn’t, he’s liable to have a fatwa issued against him.

Oh but those terrifying Christians, trying to impose a theocracy upon America (if we were, we’re sure doing a piss-poor job of it-legal abortion on demand, sodomite mirage, etc. Seems we Christians are a paper tiger if we were trying to impose theocracy. Unlike Muslims, who have fought to overturn laws which would ban sharia law being used extrajudicially instead of being under the same rule of law as the rest of Americans).

Who did Obama nominate as the first Muslim-American Judge to Federal Court? Was it by any chance Hassan Rouhani the Supreme Leader of Iran?

If asked about it and he will, Trumps answer needs to be—Wouldn’t be my choice but its up to congress to decide.— Then congress can decide next year.

Is there really such a thing as a Muslim-American? How can you profess to be a Muslim and believe in something that goes against everything this country stands for?

Why not just say 0bama appoints Muslim to federal judgeship?

Let me help you think of it clearly. Suppose Saudi leadership nominated a Christian for their judiciary? What would happen?

Treason, plain and simple.

Nominating a Muslim to a Federal bench isn't treason, I'm not condoning it, but it isn't treason...

It seems this guy is qualified based on what little I have read about him...

It's more of Obama thinking of ways to stir the pot to make the GOP look bad and using it as a political tool to help the MSM beat Trump over the head.,

In other words a distraction for conservatives not to focus on Hillary

Oh yes it is treason...it will just take a while for the treasonous act to take effect as more and more muslims are appointed to the bench and then collude to bring in Sharia law. Once they obtain dominance, our present form of government will disappear. Is that not treason?

Since what you wrote won’t happen for at least 50 years or more if ever...considering Muslims are 2 to 4 % of the population...and Trump will clean the government of obama sleeper cells...
