Hume retired for good years ago and agreed to do some guest spots for his “expert opinions”. My guess is he is a placeholder for whomever they decide to give the spot to. Normally they would rotate those who want the slot then decide on who would get it. With everyone bailing on FNC they probably couldn’t find anyone they liked well enough to fill the slot.

Reading between the lines tells me FNC is soon to be history or go far left or both.

Yeah, I like the idea of Hannity and Bannon teaming up to create a Pro-American conservative news network. FNC is a zombie now.

Interesting analysis. I think that you are probably right, due to his age.

He may be particularly attractive to lead through the election, since that is his specialty, and if management does have an anti-Trump agenda.

Perhaps him holding the slot indicates that Megyn Kelley’s stock is rising in her contract negotiations. Her and Hume were widely speculated to have had an affair which ended both of their marriages, when she was an ambitious up and comer.
