“Were they Islamic, or not?
Were they terrorists, or not?”

This is a very important question that I don’t think people consider fully. The memorial didn’t refer to them as Muslim terrorists - but Islamic terrorists. May sound like a distinction without a difference, but there truly is a difference. Muslim is a reference to the people - all believers in the Islamic religion. While there is clearly a broad spectrum of adherents to that religion, many of which are respectable people (Muhammed Ali), there are some who are fanatical and willing to murder and die. Reference to “Islamic terrorists” is probably the best way to respectfully distinguish the difference - they are terrorist who adhere to the the Islamic religion. This doesn’t cast an aspersion on all Muslims.

Hey Castellucci, it isn’t the words than engender hate, it is the ACTIONS of the Islamic Terrorists.

Academically, sure, but the reality is that a Muslim can become an Islamist in a heartbeat, then he's butchering innocent people. The line between Muslim and Islamist is awfully blurry.

Not the first time someone has removed words from a memorial. Find the word "Savage" here.

“Once we are done destroying your country .. we’ll move to yours”

Change the wording a bit, and it’s exactly what liberals do after they’ve completely destroyed their dem-controlled cities and states.

No wonder they support the terrorists over what’s good for America.

“”The Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier worries the wording could encourage hatred towards Muslims living in the city, painting all Muslims with the same brush, they say.””

Good for Owego...small town with BIG courage!!!

“worries the wording could encourage hatred” - does that organization worry that the ACTIONS of MUSLIM TERRORISTS
could encourage hatred? I don’t think so...absolute silence from all of them on that score!

“”I don’t live in a politically-correct worldm” Castellucci says. “I live in a historical fact world and cross terrorism, whether it’s American homegrown, Christianity, Islamic, you call it what it is.””

Castellucci is the good guy. Why are you yelling at him? You could be respectful and thank him for standing up to the not so subtle threat....

My bad, misread the article. Thanks for pointing it out. Should have said: “Hey Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier ...” Given that, I don’t need you to tell me to be respectful —
