CPS has been out of control for a long time. In 1987, we were 'confirmed' to be neglecting our teenagers (16, 15, 12) when they were left at home alone while their father worked in the evening and I was away. Remember these cases when you see the headlines "2 MILLION reports of child abuse and neglect." And those are just reports not the 'confirmed' cases as ours was.

The 11-year-old probably had a dvd player or game in the car.

I'm aware of that...

A few years ago my daughter brother in law kid (5 years old) stabbed (not poked, but stabbed) their dog with a fork when he was visiting...dog was doing nothing but sitting there...

The mom blew if off like it was nothing...(we now know where he got his psycho genes)

My daughter made the mistake of calling CPS to report the kid because he probably needed mental help...

They showed up and almost took her kids away...

Three visits and the threat of legal action finally got them to back off...

Lesson learned...
