I like the way Georgia handles claims of “insanity.” There is no verdict of “not guility by reason of insanity.” You can be judged “guilty but mentally ill,” in which case you serve your sentence in a state mental hospital. If you are treated successfully for your mental illness, you are then transferred to a regular prison to serve out your sentence.
I always thought once you are no longer ‘sick’ you should have to serve your full sentence. Or execution in this case.
