Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump had not even left yet for his visit to Mexico on Wednesday morning when the mainstream media began declaring it a failure.
Politico’s Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman, for example, wrote in their morning “Playbook” email:
TRUMP TO MEXICO — We know that the Mexican government is not interested in paying for Donald Trump’s wall.
The New York Times also did its best, reporting Trump’s impending visit under the headline: “Donald Trump to Visit Mexico After More Than a Year of Mocking It.” The Times added that the visit was the “latest gamble for Mr. Trump and his struggling campaign.”
Trump shocked the political world by announcing the visit on Tuesday night — less than 24 hours ahead of his immigration speech in Arizona.
Though the visit has political risks — President Nieto could try to embarrass him, and Trump could make rhetorical mistakes — the fact that it is happening at all is unquestionably a coup for the Republican nominee. It undercuts Hillary Clinton’s attempt to portray Trump as a toxic racist, and also shows Trump looking the part of a president.
The media clearly understand that, and are determined to undermine Trump as they did Mitt Romney in 2012.
They are already trying to do the same with Trump, and are clearly eager to reassure the public that Hillary Clinton, too, will have her turn to meet the Mexican president.
There is only one problem: she has already been to Mexico, and embarrassed herself. In 2009, for example, as the newly-installed Secretary of State, she used a visit to blame American guns for violence in Mexico, setting up Operation Fast and Furious, which ended in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Ben Shapiro and KABC radio this morning were saying the samething.
Donald Trump is a builder and and a billionaire while the radio guys are in....radio.
He tires to embarrass Trump, he helps Trump out. How better to demonstrate the fact he held his hand out and they spit on it! Meanwhile, if anything positive comes of it, one has to wonder if the lack of comment in the press will be something like if a tree falls in the forest is there any noise if there is no one there to hear it.
Trump is not dumb, this is a win win for him...something positive comes of it, like an immigration deal he will run with it as a positive...if they embarrass him, he points to it can calls them an enemy. His history is making deals where everyone wins, not where one side wins and one loses. Heretofore there have been no deals. Of course, these deals would have to within the fabric of our laws too which could be a stumbling block for him but give him credit for trying something outside the box.
Meanwhile, hitlery can point to her deals, lose for the US, win for whomever she has been in contact with. The only win s for her have been with for the crime family foundation.
The Clinton/Obama media is lost at sea. They would have better off if they had noted the message that Florida primary voters sent forward to the country last evening. Republicans outvoted Democrats in the Florida primary by better then 350,000 votes. What does that mean? It means Marco Rubio will slaughtered, his opponent, Patrick Murphy, come election day in November and will be re-elected in a massive landslide victory. It also means that Donald J. Trump wll indeed carry Florida also...by a massive margin.
It is also quite interesting that the Democrat Party has totally abandoned its Senate candidate, Ted Strickland in Ohio....withholding all money to support his failing campaign for the Senate. Rob Portman, the current Republican Senator will easily win re-election...and Trump will carry Ohio. All DJT needs is a win in Pennsylvania...and folks this POTUS game is over!!! Go Donald J. Trump!!! Ah....folks if only the media lived in the real world!!!

Trump should have the Mexican President take him and the media representatives on a tour of the WALL Mexico built on their SOUTHERN BORDER.
This ought to be good. I can see Trump sitting there and listening to the BS and then getting up and saying, “Well thats nice, except it isnt going to go that way.” And then explain what Mehico is gonna do whether they like it or not.
My concern is security for the man.

The President of Mexico invited both TRUMP and CLINTON for a SUMMIT Meeting. Hillary DID NOT RESPOND.
Exactly, the media will say that Trump screwed up in Mexico. The Mexican press will say something bad about Trump, and the US press will repeat and magnify it. The John Kerry will say that Trump totally screwed up the relationship between the US and Mexico. And they might actually try to say there are more illegals coming into the country now because of Trump.
This set up is going to hurt Trump. It hurt Romney when he went to England. They lied and misquoted and said he ruined the US foreign policy with Europe. The press is shameless.
