Sadly, too many FReepers have been fleeced by Dan Backer and these scamPACs.

[Candidates endorsed by Tea Party Forward include stalwarts like Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and crackpot pro-Trump longshots like Paul Nehlen (who has since lost his primary challenge against Speaker Paul Ryan in Wisconsin’s 1st District).]

So glad I send all of my donations directly to the Candidates’ websites. It’s more work to be familiar with the candidates, but at least you really are helping the right people.

Since its launch, Tea Party Forward has raised $137,477 in contributions (excluding transfers from other organizations) but has only spent $28,365 on election efforts. That means close to 80 cents out of every dollar given by donors is spent on overhead unrelated to actually winning elections for endorsed candidates.

I hate guys like this. He's a fraud and should be in jail.

But even with this dismal record...he's still spending twice the percentage of what he takes in on actual campaigns than the Clinton Foundation spent on it's charities.

A long time ago when I joined FR, it was obvious that a lot of faux conservatives were asking for money and like left wing faux charities never did anything.

Look at the GOPe vermin in DC/? pretending to be conservatives on tv/radio and in print. Trump has outed many of these phonies.

Sounds like a good idea.

How do I go about setting this up to target the left?

Every time I look at some item on Amazon it flags me and offers to make a donation to “Tea Party Patriots”.

If Jeff Bezos is actually willing to make donations to them I figure it has to be some sort of a false-flag front group.

It’s been our policy for seemingly ever to send to the candidate, never to any organization other than the candidate. Not even to the Republican Party.

That’s why “Trump” has been so much more effective as a focal point for voter anger than “Tea Party” - not really any opportunities for this kind of theft. No wonder they hate him. :)

Never trust anyone who claims to be a conservative and asks for money.

A few year ago I got a call asking for contributions for a group that claimed to be successful in getting “true conservative” candidates elected. The caller recited a polished sales talk about how great this group was.

When he got to the end and asked for a contribution I asked him to name the “true conservatives” his group worked to get elected.

He stammered and then got angry. He repeated how great his group was and said they are recognized by everyone in Washington as a great group. I asked again to name the “true conservatives” his group helped elect.

He got angrier but could not answer my question.

I told him to take my name off his list and never call me again. Then I hung up on him.
