The biggest source of income for Mexico is remittances sent home from Mexicans working (mostly illegally) in the US. It is a bigger source of income than their oil industry. Simply taxing those remittances will pay for the wall in a hurry.

And the looming threat of shutting that money flow down will focus Nieto’s attention wonderfully. I suspect that we will see a lot of interest in cooperation from Mexico for the first time in over 50 years.

..........good point and you may be right but my belief is that Trump won’t reach into a hard working Mexican man or woman’s pocket or purse and withdraw their wages via a direct tax.

My view is he will move for a import fee (tax) on new vehicles primarily but other products too and will deposit that money in a separate account and use it to pay for the wall. The separate account would be for accounting purposes and accountability purposes.
