My wife went in to the ER for breathing probs one Friday night, they prescribed Prednisone. Back again Sat more Prednisone, Monday she had od reaction, back in the ER in a small room trying to get out of bed pulling her clothes off I was putting her back in bed for hours finally I told them I can do this at home I put a shirt on her and put her in wheel chair. They wouldn’t allow her to leave and EMS took her to the big hospital New Hanover, she was at Cape Fear. Next day when I went to see her she said what am I doing here. So no more prednisone.
Usually an asthma inhaler is used and they measure OX in the blood along with chest xrays. Not Predisone. Morphine Sulfate did that to me only I’d not allow hubby to haul me to the ER. I was in no condition to sit 5 or more hrs. Going at both ends as I was and crippled from the locked joints with extreme pain.
It’s like my niece, they “THINK’ she has RA based only on x-rays of swollen joints, I have those with OA. They put her on Plaqunil a Malaria drug. She is having small seizures, and this drug causes seizures, DUMB. So is her Primary, she needs referrals to see other docs. She needs a Rheumatologist, Hematologist, and Gastro docs.
I react to a lot of meds badly, some don’t take but swallowing them to react before the nurse can back her cart out of the room. They never NOTE it in my charts, and they don’t note my full list or all my health issues. When you are Hypothyroid, there are certain foods SOY and Grapefruit you can’t eat, as I have a non fixable digestive autoimmune I can’t have fiber or high fat. Add in LOW SODIUM for an Enlarged heart with a leaky valve to small to fix. Hospital stays are a nightmare.
Predisone in the blister packs are awful, compared to the single pills. Different manufacture and they are both generics you have no idea what the fillers or dyes are.
