Crossbow slayings victims were mother, 2 brothers of accused killer

The victims of last week's so-called crossbow killings in the Toronto district of Scarborough were the mother and two brothers of the man charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

A court-ordered publication ban put in place after Brett Anthony Ryan, 35, was charged in the triple homicide Friday prevented CBC News from publishing the names of the victims until now.

OK, so with a name like Brett Anthony Ryan, it's probably a safe bet this wasn't Islamic terrorism. It looks like a family thing involving a career criminal.

The connection between the crossbow murders in Scarborough and the mysterious package found on Queen's Quay is eluding me. It's possible that Ryan may have lived in that condo complex at some point

After being convicted of 29 bank robberies, the court imposed a lifetime weapons ban. Well, that didn’t work out as hoped but at least he didn’t use one of those scary guns.

Earlier reports were that the condo is where Ryan was currently living with his girlfriend. What gets me about this story is that the guy was supposed to married in two or three weeks....someone at least thought he was sane enough to not call that wedding off before the murders occurred.
