German Chancellor Angela Merkel reportedly survived what European press are calling an assassination attempt Thursday afternoon as she was visiting the Czech Republic. Merkel was leaving the airport in Prague when a man with weapons "attempted to join the motorcade" in a Mercedes and began to "run down police" while doing so, the Sun reported.
"He is suspected of attempting to cause a crime specifically, an attempt to use violence against an official," Josef Bocan, a spokesman for the Czech police, told Express. "He tried to join the procession at all costs, cutting off a police vehicle that was trying to stop him. He only stopped and got out of the vehicle after police warned him that they were going to shoot."
The man, who has not been identified in the press, was arrested at the scene. When authorities searched the suspect's car, they discovered teargas, handcuffs and cobblestones, according to De Standaard.
"Thanks to the professional actions of officers, Angela Merkel's life was not in danger," Bocan added.

Things that make you go, hmmm.

There’s some speculation that Heydrich made a deathbed confession where he expressed regret for what he’d done.
Not many Nazis shed a tear when Heydrich passed, he was the one who had the dirt on all of them, and he was Hitler’s favorite, so he was untouchable. Hitler basically told Himmler, if anything happened to Heydrich, at the hands of another Nazi, Himmler wouldn’t last more than 24 hours. Some speculation that Heydrich could have been Hitler’s successor.
LOL... same feelings here.
That he did. The Doc who let it happen was one of Himmler's personal doctors, and subsequently ran experiments in wound sepsis on human subjects in Dachau to try to exonerate himself.
The may or may not have named Operation Reinhardt after him - note the "t" at the end which was not actually in his name, leading most scholars to suspect that it was actually a coincidence. You may have heard of the extermination camps that were a part of this: Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec, and Majdenec. He deserves that hideous legacy even if it wasn't named after him, because he was there at the Wannsee conference when it was all planned.
She better not go to Sarajevo.

While all this is true, I am reminded of what Voltaire said:
Dans ce pay-ci, il est bon de tuer de temps en temps un amiral pour encourager les autres..
What have they got to lose?
Soros must be paying Merkel some serious cash.
“What have they got to lose?”
I read a fascinating study about assassinations. In not one of the cases studied did the assassin achieve his political aim. Germany needs to solve its problem by changing the attitudes of enough voters to put a party in that is not communist or globalist, which is what they have now. Their political system is unbelievably weak. Usually two parties have to form a coalition. Like arbitration between two disputing people, nobody gets what they want. The AFD party, the smallest, is the only one of the five that is openly against immigration. They poll between 11-19%, depending on location.
Voters are unlikely to switch in bulk because the parties have a platform that includes 30-40 items that may include all the give-aways that the gimmedat’s want. To switch because of immigration, which does not effect the bulk of voters directly might mean giving up six weeks of paid vacation or early retirement as well.
We are doomed. We have many of the same problems. The stuff that's killing us is politically popular and cannot be repealed.
All I see is a lot of future bloodshed.
I think making her a martyr is still worth the effort.
Better luck next time.
I think that movie just came out last week.
Too bad
It was posted elsewhere this was a set-up.
Her life was not in danger.
Thanks, I was trying to remember where that one took place. Might also be called the shot heard round the world.
