George W. Bush's Iraq war architect says he will likely vote for Clinton

Paul Wolfowitz, a top official in the George W. Bush administration referred to as the architect of the Iraq war, said he will likely vote for Hillary Clinton in November.

Wolfowitz is part of a growing list of GOP national security and foreign policy officials who have announced their intention to support the Democratic presidential nominee. But though Clinton has proudly announced the backing of other Republicans, it’s less likely she will roll out a news release touting the support from Wolfowitz.

As deputy secretary of Defense under Bush, Wolfowitz was among the earliest and biggest cheerleaders for invading Iraq and deposing Saddam Hussein. Clinton, as a senator representing New York, voted in 2002 to go to war in Iraq.

He’s a NeoCon, which is far worse than being an idiot. The American peoples’ interests are not his interests.

Baghdad is not conquered.

It’s a money laundering operation run by the US government.

Gulf War I was a huge screw up that never should have happened

Bush should gave told Saddam to stand down and not not invade Kuwait instead letting the Saudis egg Saddam on and then green lighting Saddam's invasion

GW bush really had no choice but to clean up his daddy's mess and he did a good job

NeoCon

I can't say that I have a whole lot of respect for arguments which make use of that term.

The globalists of the Uniparty are the Robber Barons of the 21st Century: reducing all populations into one big serf pool from which to draw the slave labor they need to maintain their oligarchy going.

Trump is a billionaire capitalist who believes in individual freedom and prosperity (He wrote The Art of the Deal, not The Art of the Steal); he is not a robber baron - he is an independent opportunist - and they fear him.

I can and do, if it applies.

The modern history of the Republican Party features the takeover by the Neocons decades ago. The only real respite we have had from it is by virtue of Ronald Reagan.

I suggest you acquaint yourself with The Neoconservative Persuasion by Irving (father of William) Kristol. He was, and functionally remained, a Trotskyite.

The Neocons are the cancer that have rotted the Republican Party from within - whether you realize it or not.

There is a fundamental reason why they endorsed the leftist Willard Romney, who invented communistic healthcare for Obama to then nationalize, but adamantly refuse to endorse Donald Trump, an actual private-sector capitalist.

Figure it out.

I’m assuming that he lives in NY State. If so I’m not sure his vote matters that much as NY will
be in the Dem column. Now can he sway voters in swing states may be another situation.

The basic American national security objectives of maintaining our role as the world’s superpower and protecting the freedom of the world have the consequence of providing shelter to wealthy people who do not fully hold to our national values. Ultimately, the American people must defend those values in full or lose who we are. Trump’s improbable rise demonstrates the desire of a great many Americans to defend their country. Even if he is defeated, Trump will have moved the country forward toward such policies.

These people are big-government globalists whose only interest in the United States of America is to provide financial and military assets to support their empire-building agenda.

Thank you. Exactly correct. That's why these scum are traitors, imo.

NeoCons are responsible for the flawed theory that democracy will flourish if the mid-east dictators would be over-thrown. The population there does not care for democracy.

Pat Buchanan warned about the neo-cons in 1991. Remove “likely” from the headline.
