I think it will vary by state. given different laws. In most states, I "think" they are all processed at the same time....but also given that the votes are recorded on different media (paper absentee vs machine count on election day), it should be easy to tell.
That is NOT true for where I live (near Tacoma WA). We have "all mail in" ballots, although there are limited places one can go and physically vote on "E-Day", the vote is still on the same paper ballot as the "mail-in".
