Look for Obama to hang the Kurds out to dry.

Well I guess that Obama has officially thrown the Kurds under the bus.

I wonder if the Turks will now escort a new garrison of jihadis (with a different black flag) into Manbij?

Funny how the Turks never fought this hard against ISIS.

What happens when a NATO country invades another sovereign nation without any authorizations?

Is there article -5 for NATO to go along?

Turkey needs to be shut down. Give Kurds any and all traditional lands. Arm them to kill any Islamic terrorist, Turkish or otherwise, that might threaten them. Fund Kurds for every dead Islamic terrorist.

Nobody “took” Jarablus from IS, they just slunk away, Probably warned in advance

The USA’s newest JV proxy team, known as the “SDF” or “Syrian Democratic Force” ... we got to back them, they must be democratic because its in their name...is a smattering of militias of various ideologies but mostly YPG Kurds who are being trained advised (and armed) by US troops now on the ground in Syria (I missed the Congressional oversight hearings on that deployment, as apparently did the entire GOP congress) .

Having a strengthened US-backed YPG/SDF establish a de facto Kurdish state in Northern Syria along the Turkish border is a non starter for Erdogan. The Turks seem to have revitalized some of the USA-formed “FSA- Free Syrian Army”, another group of dirt bags who have been almost totally ineffective except at killing Syrian police and kidnapping and shelling (and gassing) villagers they consider “loyalist” to Assad,

Erdogan, while wooing and using the FSA as partners for cover in invading Syria, is willing to let bygones be bygones with Assad for now over a shared imperative of not permitting the USA to devise a partitioned Syria with a Kurd “republic” under de facto US military and intelligence control, as a springboard for further destabilization of both countries

Turkey wants the Kurds to get back east of the river so they can keep the supply corridor open for ISIS and the moderate beheaders. With the help of the US.

We’re playing on every team in the region. It won’t work.
