Strange because the New York Times had an article last weekend on the continuing weakening of The David in Florence. The article spoke about future earthquakes and three days later - here it is. I haven’t heard anything about the statue in these reports.
This town is in very mountainous country and is quite a ways from Florence, so I don’t think it should have affected the David.
Florence is in another part of the country. This was nearby to Rome, although they probably felt it a little all over the country. I was a couple hundred miles away in Verona when the 6.1 quake that hit Bologna a few years ago shook me awake in bed. It depends on the depth and type of movement.
