Twitter’s done for
Will it be used to data mine, just like Twitter, Facebook, etc?
Competition is a good thing. Just ask Ma Bell.
Whatever happened to Pa Bell?
Second it.
“Whatever happened to Pa Bell?”
You never watch the Ma and Pa Bell movies...Pa lazed around while ma did all the work.
Oh wait, that was Ma and Pa Kettle...never mind.
I wonder if Milo has signed up yet? :-)
Bingo!
Social media doesn’t charge for its product, because the user Is the product...
So glad you brought this up.
Will gab.ai “share” it’s user data with .gov just like all other social media does?
BTW, it may be just weird coincidence, but look at what gabai means:
gabai - Jewish English Lexicon
www.jewish-languages.org/jewish-english-lexicon/words/176...
verb: to serve as gabai; noun: The officer of the synagogue who determines which congregants are to receive Torah honors at the service.
No doubt someone’s going to claim gab.ai is Mossad backed a intelligence gathering tool.
RE: “Will it be used to data mine, just like Twitter, Facebook, etc?”
Got gobbled up by Verizon. :-)
The only way to make money, other than charging a subscription fee or loading up the feed with advertising.
I just registered.
.ai is the domain of Anguilla.
The site name is Gab.
The domain is .ai
The Gab.ai thing is a coincidence.
“The Gab.ai thing is a coincidence.”
I dont believe in coincidences, but that’s just me. It’s akin to a site called Lick.me and the explanation is ‘well, the domain is in Montenegro..”
I married a man who has the same last name I do. We’re not related in any way. We also share the same birthday (September 3) although he’s older than me. And the first three digits of his SSN are the last three of mine.
All of which is a coincidence.
You may want to reconsider having anything to do with Gab.ai.
Gab.ai founder owner, Andrew Torba, is up to his eyeballs in user data mining analytics for the very companies he dislikes, ie: Twitter, Facebook, for example.
He works with Google Brands Studio profiling social media user groups for advertising...

The takeaway -
Mr. Torba, age 25, is very much of the mindset of his 20-something San Francisco Silicon Valley peers:
You are the product, and they have no ethical problems data mining every bit of information they can to share with advertisers, data brokers, or .gov.
RE: I just registered
And: Gab.ai user data mining just like Facebook, Twitter, Google
Nice job on your rigorous research about Gab.ai -
the conservative friendly “free speech” honeypot data mining company who’s founder currently works with Google, Facebook and Twitter...

And .. they’re going to beat you to death with Ads, Ads, and more Ads.
Sorry; I’m happy not being on Twitter and/or Facebook.
And, I’ve noticed lately that after making this statement several times on FR, more and more of the companies I check with on a regular basis, have now begun to list an e-mail address; along with twitter, etc.
I hope they had to hire a person (who really needed a job), just to answer all the emails.
