A group of tourists, including children, was attacked today in the Old City of Akko today by a group of Arabs.
The Arabs tried to push the hikers from a high wall within the Old City such that one of the tourists, a career soldier, was forced to pull out his gun to defend the other hikers.
After the incident, the soldier - of all people - was taken into the local police station for questioning, and his weapon was confiscated. Attorney Adi Kedar of the Honenu Legal Rights Organization is providing legal council to the soldier.
"We were touring inside the Old CIty, when suddenly an Arab youth came up to us and threatened to push us off the wall to the ground below. We're talking about a high wall - 12 meters. After several minutes more men and youth joined the Arab youth; one of them actually tried to push members of our group from the wall and endanger their lives.
"I and another of my friends were forced to jump to the lower rampart so that we wouldn't fall in the direction of the sea and rocks below," one of the hikers related.
"In response to the attack, one of my friends in the group who is a career soldier was forced to pull out his gun to fend off the attackers and protect the group from harm. The police detained him and confiscated his weapon; we are on our way to the station to testify regarding the matter," he said.

Should have shot them all. Probably save some lives down the road. Anyone got the names of the slimes?
Can bet with some certainty one or more of them kills someone.
“He pulled out his gun, apparently without shooting anyone.”
Maybe that’s why they took it ?
I hope they took it to replace it with something better. A Jerocho 9 or something “Positively Israeli”
And rightly so.
He would have done better with a 3-shot deringer. Put them down fast, before they can figure out what’s happening, put the rest to flight. Instead he probably waved his piece around and ‘deterred’ them. Now look what his ‘restraint’ bought him.
Great,we’re headed there next month!
Make sure to pack something hot.
Ban islam now.
It must be illegal to prevent tourists from being thrown off the old city walks. Koran aporoved, of course.
It’s easier not to be wise
And measure these things by your brains
I sank into Eden with you
Alone in the church by and by
I’ll read to you here, save your eyes
You’ll need them, your boat is at sea
Your anchor is up, you’ve been swept away
And the greatest of teachers won’t hesitate
To leave you there, by yourself, chained to fate
Jericho 941 is based on a CZ-75.
Extremely nice hand ergonomics. Sweet gun.
Destroy islam
“Put them down fast, before they can figure out whats happening, put the rest to flight. Instead he probably waved his piece around and deterred them. Now look what his restraint bought him.”
This is surely the American tactic. Never “wave the gun around”. Clear leather, pull the trigger. 2 to the chest, 1 to the head reload. (God that is so drilled in me) But I would think that Israeli courts and LEO would be more friendly to one of their own.
Although I hear that Israel bounces around between condition 2 carry regulations for public carry. I’m not sure how that works out.
Either way, there is no easy way or sure “one size fits all” response for any threat. But if anyone was trying to toss anyone off a cliff near me, I would surely use a firearm to put a stop to it.
Racking that slide isn’t easy for me. But then again, KAHRs are famous for giving me slide issues as well.
I’ve been impressed with the outcome of the IMI (AKA Israel’s Taurus) products. The CZ is a nicer example, but I wouldn’t say IMI wastes your time either. The cost difference isn’t a chasm but it’s well within reason for what you’re getting.
The Desert Eagle is just ridiculous. Although I know that guys in Afghanistan were using them to clear caves.
Burn Islam now.
Akko is almost completely Arab populated so I would suppose most of the police are Arabs also. I could be mistaken but when I visited there some years ago a Christian Arab family gave me a quick tour one evening and that was my impression.
I might throw up a video to youtube showing my answer to this article.
That article is pretty much 2nd day stuff. Not following the slide was tricky but that was like 20 years ago.. I just remember it because I refer to it all the time when I’m training someone else.
I can rack these guns. Power isn’t the problem with the models I mentioned.
Kahr is a machine shop, first and foremost. Their machining and die are so fresh and so accurate that the slide serrations may as well be razor blades. Owwey.
The thin CZ/Jericho slide is an indian burn everytime too.
My Beretta open slide just pinches every goddam thing on my hand too. But it’s so easy to actuate that I don’t really dig pieces of my fingers out of the serrations anymore (It’s 40 years old this year)
I just went over the video with the HK P30 which is another grip killer. When I did, I actually found a finger positioning that I do to get the leverage necessary.
I should post it up, it might help someone.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I’m familiar with your observations but I don’t have them because I only carry S&W revolvers. Have you considered wearing a thin leather glove on your left hand?
