Kirsten Powers, a regular on Fox News for the past decade, is switching channels.
Powers is joining CNN as a political analyst, effective immediately, CNN announced Monday morning. She will continue to write columns for USA Today. Her first appearance will be on "Anderson Cooper 360" Monday night.
Powers is the fourth Fox personality hired by CNN in the past 18 months, joining co-host Alisyn Camerota, liberal commentator Bob Beckel and conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham.
The timing of her move is newsworthy because it comes one month after the founding CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes, resigned under pressure amid a sexual harassment scandal. There has been press speculation about a potential "talent exodus" from Fox in the wake of Ailes' resignation. Some of Fox's biggest stars have clauses in their contracts that allow them to leave because Ailes left.
Powers brings an unpredictable set of views to television news discussions. Last year The Washington Post described her as "an antiabortion, antiwar evangelical liberal who works for Fox News."
She is also the author of "The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech."

She is a better fit with CNN, right? Bad career move, though.
If she’s seeking anonymity why didn’t she just join a monastery?
She was one of the more reasonable and thoughtful Liberals on Fox.
There goes her Catholicism!!!
That’s were libtards like her belong. Good riddance.
As far as liberals go, she didn’t bother me so much. I wish Juan the Whiner Williams would have gone instead.
“Evangelical liberal” is right. She evangelizes the liberal viewpoint.
More money in her pay check might be a reason.
When did Mary Katherine Ham jump to CNN?
She once dated Anthony Weiner, so her judgment has never been her strong suit.
You are correct. I may not agree with her but she seemed more thoughtful. Fox News is stuck with Juan Williams.
Perfect, just what CNN needed, another liberal.
Kirsten Powers perhaps felt her liberal credentials were in danger while at Fox, and she was clearly in danger of being converted to an almost libertarian point of view, a paradigm shift which is anathema in her social circle.
I thought she was almost persuaded to have a change of heart a couple of times. But no, she would retreat in obvious confusion.
CNN will rescue her from that heretical line of thinking.
If she is thinking at all.
Juan is just plain annoying. Only thing good I can say about him is that he raised a conservative son.
Too Bad, her and Sharyl Attkisson had an incredible interview last year about the Intolerance of the Left.
That's the persona she took on because she was on Fox News. Watch her change now that she'll be unfettered.
