During the Kuwait war Powell planned for a front wide frontal assault across open ground against well prepared positions in a WWI style attack. Bush overrode him and opted for Swartzkoff’s Rommel style deep desert flanking attack. But that hasn’t stopped Powell from taking the credit.

Trying to claim the credit for Swartzkoff’s battle plans is what caused me to lose all respect for Powell. He is worthless!

Yup, Powell had the wrong plan, and then at the end of the war he persuaded Bush to stop the air attacks on the Iraqi National Guard much too soon due to the supposed “Highway of Death” which turned out to be a scam, since almost all of the vehicles in the famous photos were empty, people had fled them and not died there, for the most part.....
