Execution would treat pedophilia quite effectively, and permanently.
The fantasy must become more and more extreme to be fulfilling. Eventually even the most extreme fantasy does not work.
Fantasy only feeds the drive to indulge in the reality.
And when they finally indulge it looks like a shark feeding frenzy.
One the other hand an armed society does greatly reduce rape. Something about knowing that you have a chance of dying tends to suddenly cause you to control those "uncontrollable urges"
Knowing you can not indulge without your being possibly hurt and killed will result in a tendency to squash the fantasy rather then indulge.
The more you squash the more control you gain, the more control you gain the more you can channel the desire into something else.
It is your brain, how you program it is up to you.

How long before even talk of treatment is criminalized? Once upon a time, homosexuality was considered a mental disorder and now it is lauded and protected. Pedophilia will be there too within 10 years at the rate we are going.
