I’ve had discussions about this with Left-leaning co-workers and acquaintances. The overwhelming response to what is happening is: “Oh, they’re just not doing it (Socialism) right.”
To them, it’s always a problem with implementing the ideology—never the ideology itself. Of course, Capitalism never gets the same benefit of the doubt.
Capitalism works because a small business
Owner has to Efficiently consistently produce a high quality high value product better than his many competitors. In socialism a government agency gets a budget no matter if they produce a quality product or not as in the EPA,FDA,government schoolS etc.

Ask them how socialism can be good if is so fragile that it hasn't been implemented correctly yet in 150 years of trying.

The people never learn. They should have NEVER let it develop in the first place. Maybe Venezuela will serve as a final example why they should fight straight away...like, for example, Russia, Germany, Cuba should have.
Live free or die. Nothing else works.
But you can reply back, “why does collectivism fail every time it is tried, but every time free enterprise capitalism and private property is tried it succeeds?”
