We are one nation. When one state hurts, we all hurt. We must all work together - to lift each other up.
Donald J. Trump Remarks in Charlotte, NC: Building A New American Future
Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that, and I regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues.
The press is obsessed with the "regret" comment, and plays it against Trump saying he never asked God for forgiveness, as well as a bullet list of 6 to 8 items (manufactured issues) that he might have regret for.
The bullet list includes Khan, Curiel, the Heidi Cruz twitter/photo incident, the 2nd amendment supporters remark, McCain a war hero for being captured
Remarks and banners on CNN - more or less real time right now ...
Michael Smerconish on CNN says what strikes him is that the press conclusion yesterday was that Bannon (Breitbart) was going to make Trump more brash, and what we saw last night was the reverse of that.
Another meme is that Trump supporters are disappointed that Trump has regrets, they wanted him to come out with more red meat after saying he regretted intemperate remarks. Trump is not going to lose one single supporter over his "regret" remark.
Thank God Al Gore invented Call-ID....
I disconnected my landline years ago and carry only a cellphone. I also never pick up unless I know who’s calling. I carefully maintain my address book so that I link names to the phone numbers of people I want to have contact with. Otherwise the call is shunted to voice mail. I may or may not get back to you but if I do, I create a new address book entry for that number. If you don’t leave a voice mail I definitely won’t get back to you. Not ever.
I know I am not alone.
Trump’s speech in Charlotte has already had over 200,000 views on youtube. CNN, FOX and MSNBC all carried it live, so it was seen by probably 4 MILLION, maybe more, and more will continue to see it on youtube over the coming days. CNN can crow all they want and Politico can scribble all they want, but far fewer people will either hear or read their BS than the MILLIONS who saw it live or later on youtube.
I had a dream early this morning that I met Trump in back of the curtain before the rally. I just walked in as there were no secret service anywhere and he was straigtening his tie. Then I straight up told him “You are going to win this thing!” I told him I had known this fact all along. While he did not seem quite as sure, he agreed.
It is an irony that the press criticizes Trump as "unable to change," when they have that affliction in spades.
When I say "the press," I mean that to include the DEM party politicians.
According to PEW, (no time to dig up the references now) the response rate to polls was 9% in 2012, and 8% in 2014. That is more than 90% of people called refuse to answer or take part in the poll.
Some research was published in the WaPo, showing no increase error rate in polls from 1998 to 2012 (iirc) despite the response rate going from +30% to less than 10%. That may well be true, but the pollsters are skating on very thin ice. With such a small proportion of the population actually taking part in polls, there needs to be only a very small difference between the responding and the non-responding cohort for the polls to be totally skewed.
PEW published a recent experiment (a FR-thread a few days ago) where they had asked republican voters in three different ways if they were voting for Trump. It was clear that a total anonymous internet poll gave larger response for Trump than an automated phone call, which was more positive than a personal phone call.
Interestingly enough if the same question was asked about Jebb Bush there was no difference between the different ways of polling. (!!!!!!)
I believe this makes the polls almost completely useless this time around.
Anybody watching the full speech in Charlotte last night and still on the fence is probably not a real American. The choice this November cannot be more clear. Do we want to bring optimism and greatness back to our nation or do we want to continue down the path of decline and more of the same-o same-o.
I am also noticing that the YouTube speeches of Donald Trump are getting hundreds of thousands of views. The media gatekeepers are getting bypassed in a big way.
Also, I would like to thank Right Side Broadcasting for their excellent job of not only streaming Trump events live but archiving them for on demand viewing later. If I miss a Trump rally, I can always watch it in its unfiltered entirety later.
Like any start up, they are having some growing pains. Donald Trump would be wise to see that they get some funding and I’ll kick in a few dollars as well.
Even with 4 MILLION total views, Trump needs TV & radio ads to reach the vast majority needed to win in November.
FBN just showed his new TV ad - it’s good, not great. But it will begin the start of his national campaign.
May God save America...
I recently read that Trump regularly gives local media good access (interviews etc) when he is in a town for a rally. So this does not get any national exposure but of course is seen by locals and bypasses the MSM narrative filter.
Good morning to all fellow travelers.
Looking forward to Trumps report from LA.
We know he cares and the whole world will know he cares!
“There is no way to right this ship,” said one New Hampshire Republican ...”
Can’t wait to see them all with egg on their mugs when DJT wins.
I know they are literally fighting for their lives as many will be sent to jail, they are so corrupt.
That bacon egg biscuit looks awesome. I can smell it. Grits on the side please, orange juice (big glass) and some Earl Grey tea.
Missed it. Is linked somewhere?
CNN did too., Called it "dark," and void of any positive message about Trump's plans.
There are no tanks in Baghdad.
My pleasure.
