Much of US policy drives jobs overseas - minimum wage, tax policy, insurance, liability law, workers comp, OSHA, EPA - all make it difficult to hire and produce in the USA.

We still mange to produce some things in the USA. How?

All those things are just a cost of doing business and inflate the retail price. But those issues are no excuse to kill the industrial base to prove a point. Fight all those things but do not offshore. That is the cowardly globalist way out. More tariffs and less income taxes.

We live in a (somewhat) free-market economy. Most Americans accept this, and this needs to continue. Our firm manufactures pistons and dampers for construction projects. 40% of our business is exports. NY State's over-the-top regs on everything from Obamacare to Workers Comp to union negotiations kill us. We compete against Chinese and Europeans for business overseas. These added burdens don't mean we choose to "save money" by offshoring or not. It means we either get an order - or we don't. If we don't get an order, that work, and those jobs, go to our competitors' workers in other countries.
