Sorry, but I had a stab in the heart when he essentially apologized for mis-speaking. I never wanted to ever back down on the political correctness police. I don’t think I’m going to like his new “handlers”. I heard them tonight, not DJT. The crowd was not as enthused also. I will always support him, just voicing my gut feelings about this rally.

Did you watch the whole speech or are you just relying on the media spin? I did not get the sense that Trump was backing down on political correctness at all. So he said he regretted that some of his previous statements caused personal pain. So what? That's a human thing to say, not a politically correct thing. Many times I've regretted what I say to others in this very forum!
And it was a fiery speech - he really let Crooked Hillary have it with both barrels.

I like his fire & brimstone tone also. And I think he still should sprinkle in a few "Corrupt Hillary" & "She lacks the stamina and mental capacity" lines.
But, at this point he needs to reach out to the undecideds & get as many people on the Trump Train as possible. He already has us, but needs more.
I'm not saying he is being dishonest or pandering - I truly believe he is speaking from the heart & means what he says. But he needs this tone to get the undecideds to listen to what he has to say.

He was talking to the south where their hearts are much more open to Religious "forgiveness". He perhaps has listened to Pastor Burns and what he feels is needed to relate to the many Blacks who feel left out and forgotten today.
Donald had a new tone and he was reaching out to new Democrat Republican's and Bern's.
Just my two cents worth.

Be honest, he has misspoken at times and they had nothing to do with political correctness. I like the man myself, want him to win so desperately, and can only see his conciliatory tone tonight as being most helpful and not hurtful to his campaign.
