I don’t blame the German people. For all I know that man in the hut could be running extermination camps for white people right now. How would I ever know about it?
If you live down wind from a camp, you knew it. If you were a town baker near a camp, and you baked the same amount of bread despite all the trains coming into the camp, you knew it. If you didn't know it, then you were a liar.

If you live down wind from a camp, you knew it. Which is why the major extermination facilities were all in Poland, not in Germany.
