This is what happens when an unrestricted flood of immigrants from the Northeast come into a state.
We lived in a Charlotte suburb of Waxhaw for a bit, but apparently, New Yorkers consider that spot a place to be. In what seemed overnight, easily 80% of our neighborhood turned into transplanted New Yorkers. Then the bitching started. “Why don’t we have this?” “Why don’t we have that?” “How come there’s no law to stop this?” “How come there’s no law to stop that?” Then they start complaining about the density of the development and the traffic — all while more and more move in from the northeast. Then they start complaining about how there needs to be more regulation to prevent this, that, and whatever. It got so exasperating that we packed up and moved to the mountains.
I predict North Carolina will turn solid blue between this election and the next...
...and it will never come back.
