Bomb Threats Reported on Two Planes Due Shortly at Brussels Airport

Bomb threats were reported on two airplanes landing at Brussels airport in Zaventem, but one plane landed safely, Belgian state broadcaster VRT reported on Wednesday evening.

However, an airport police spokeswoman said no bomb alerts were in place and that there was no problem at the airport.

VRT said one of the planes, which was flying from Oslo, landed safely.

Exactly what I was going to say. In fact, I've often wondered if it really makes any sense at all to go crazy responding to bomb threats. I can't remember a case, ever, when a threat involved an actual bomb.

Anyone seeking to blow people up just isn't going to send them a warning first. The threats are usually from either a) people just trying to cause chaos for the heck of it, including some wackos simply seeking attention, or b) kids trying to get an afternoon off school or a little more time to study for the final, or workers trying to essentially do the same.
