Vietnam has discreetly fortified several of its islands in the disputed South China Sea with new mobile rocket launchers capable of striking China's runways and military installations across the vital trade route, according to Western officials.

Well I understand your feelings.

I’m still forming opinions of Vietnam, but thus far, my experiences have been quite positive. I expected some sort of warrior country, holding grudges on a national scale. I did not however see that, at all.

Like I said, two entire generations have now grown up since the war ended. This is a very young country, in age.

It is not a party type of place, like Thailand, or Cambodia. You actually need to apply for a Visa before going, you cannot just go. And there is almost no bar scene, like again Thailand or Cambodia.

However I like it.

I did not however come here back then, to fight.

I was a bit too young then. The one thing I noticed is, the Vietnamese seem to have for the most part forgotten that. Sure there is still an older generation, who gets it. All I am saying is, I have been quite pleasantly surprised.

So far, anyway.

Thanks for your note. Have a good day.
