A community college in Illinois is trying to defend itself after it decided to offer special classes only available to black people.
“College: Changes, Challenges, Choice” is a one-credit introductory course at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, and is intended to help new students “assess your purpose for college, assess your study strategies, set college and career goals, examine your values and decision-making skills, and develop an appreciation for diversity.”
But while the class may want students to appreciate diversity, the school doesn’t practice what it preaches. Two sections of the class are specifically set aside exclusively for black students, who make up about 10 percent of Moraine Valley’s 34,000 students. The special classes were first reported on by The Chicago Tribune after it was notified by the parents of several students.
Moraine Valley says it’s simply trying to improve the odds of success for black students, who are typically less likely to graduate from the school.
The school has defended its action by pointing out that it has been creating classes targeted to certain demographic groups for some time. Previous classes have been open exclusively to veterans, older students and Hispanics. Whatever its justifications, though, it’s not clear that Moraine’s policy is even legal. The federal Title VI law prohibits racial discrimination in all programs that receive federal funds, and it’s hard to imagine a genuine case of racial segregation not violating the law.
Margarent Lehner, the school’s vice president for institutional advancement, told Inside Higher Ed that the classes should be fine because separate but equal versions of the class are available for members of other races.
“Because a few people object to it should not be a deciding factor in limiting these opportunities for at-risk students,” she said. “We certainly are not hampering other students also being successful. We have the same courses available to them as well.”
Moraine Valley’s predicament is similar to a recent one at Michigan State University, where a longstanding women-only study lounge was shut down shortly after a college professor discovered it and argued that it was a violation of Title IX’s ban on sex discrimination.
This reminds me of something similar the local jc (Southwestern College, Chula Vista, CA) does....offers English Lit sections that focus on Hispanic, Asian, Black or Filipino literature. The catch—you have to be majoring in Asian, Filipino, Black or Hispanic studies in order to take the course. My son ended up spending an additional semester at this school because he needed to take this particular course, and the only one that could fit into his schedule was one of the minority-American sections. But alas, since he was majoring in something useless (Biology)</sarc>, he could not take the class, and had to wait another semester to get into the non-pandering section of the course.
Of course it’s okay, and you honkies better settle down and keep your yaps shut, because you in the New America now.
What?! The intolerant won’t let diversity enter their classroom?! Well color me surprised...
But the thing is, THEY can segregate. You can’t. Try starting a class for whites only, and see what happens. Their attitude is, “Everything that’s ours is ours, and everything that’s yours is ours.”
In other words-
We want you to act like white students.
Nobody is complaining about the lack of diversity on the US Men’s Basketball team.
Further proof that “Diversity” means “No Whites”.
As a college instructor, I am very aware of MVCC, located in or very near Hickory Hills, Illinois, a town southwest of Chicago. Let’s just say that Hickory Hills is chock-full of guilty white Libs willing to tie themselves into knots to pander to any and every minority-group that they can imagine.
Are the classes for teaching them proper hygiene? Will it teach them to marry the various fathers of their children? Will it teach them the road to respectability by working for a wage in order to feed her offspring?
Is it to settle unwanted pregnancies by traipsing off to the nearest Planned Parenthood abortuary?
Then only “Black dollars” should be supporting it.

Seperate, but equal, eh???
Black only classes are ok.
Homosexuality is normal and gay “marriage” is legal.
Honor killings are on the way to becoming socially acceptable and legal.
Cop killings and whitey killings are encouraged.
Illegals are basically citizens.
America is bad.
At this point, what does it matter?
Well, professional basketball teams aren’t bound by Title IX. College teams are, which is why you tend to see those teams having more than just one white guy to shoot 3 pointers.
Good, there will be less disruption in other classes.
