Clock Boy Returns: MSM Repeats 'Homemade' Myth

Remember Ahmed the Clock Boy? He was the high school student arrested and suspended last year when he brought a disassembled clock to school in Texas because it was suspected to be a bomb. Young Ahmed Mohamed was hailed in much of the mainstream media at the time as a genius because he supposed made a digital clock. Well, that turned out to be completely untrue. Far from being a budding Einstein, Ahmed merely removed a clock from its plastic casing and then placed it into a pencil case. After loudly drawing attention to his "invention," he was sent to the principal's office because of zero tolerance policy for possible weapons. After much media hype about Ahmed, he and his family moved to Qatar from which they have returned to pursue a lawsuit.

Unfortunately, now that the Clock Boy is back in the news, the MSM is again repeating the myth about his "homemade" clock. Should any of you still doubt as to how his clock was built, watch the video of Bill Maher below which reveals just how "homemade" it really was.

They not only misreport on it being a "homemade clock" they also misreport on it being mistaken for a bomb - it was believed to be a hoax bomb - it was a dismantled clock placed inside a pencil case of a briefcase design. The time display was not visible to the outside of the case.

Well I put together the facts recently as I found the about this family so here's my summation of how i see the whole picture to date:

...They're publicity hounds.... ...Family searches for Clock Boys name in the news as a daily ritual. ... The family is its own public relations firm.

....Mohamed "invited reporters" from Fox 4, a local TV channel , on Ahmed’s 'first day' back in Texas after nine months in Qatar...

......His mom and four of his siblings remain in Qatar, only father and son returned.

....Their family 'friend' is Anthony Bond, the founder of the Irving NAACP....who they contacted 'first on arrival' back.....Bond said:....." Let’s call the media." ($$$)

.....A news release was sent out by the family and its supporters:.... ..."Clock Boy is back, and ready to be interviewed." ($$$$)

.....‘Clock boy’s father is a Islamic Imam. ....the kid claims he's "lost his creativity".....

....Family was previously denied 15 million in compensation they demanded.... .... ....School and district will vigorously fight this case as well as they did the last.

The kid and family have already received:

Sympathetic crowdfunders raised $18,000 for his education at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he's been accepted.

A call and invitation to the Whitehouse by Obama personally.

A Google invitation to the Google Science Fair...and meeting with Mark Zuckerbee.

A personal Visit to NASA.

A personal visit to the president of his home country of Sudan. ( a wanted criminal)

amd various other meetings with news, politicians and others of notoriety.

The kid and family see themselves as "famous" and therefore have become "Photo and news seekers".....(classmates say he's an attention seeker)

The Legend of Clock Boy is as real as anthropogenic “climate change”.

In this day and age what's so special about 'building' a digital clock? Digital clocks are everywhere, in virtually everything electronic ... the technology has already been 'invented' ....

Back in the early 70's you could build a 'digital clock' from the (then) nascent Signetics 555 integrated circuit, an LED display, and a handful of standard electronic components ... or you could build one from a kit ... or you could buy a clock-radio at the local Korvettes ...

So how does this kid from Qatar suddenly become a 'genius' just because he built, (or disassembled from), an already existing and highly developed technology ??

Heck, if there were no digital clocks, then Free Republic wouldn't even exist in its current form !!
