I think she has a balance problem and also she is lugging a great deal of weight up those stairs. But who knows. A 68 year old in decent shape shouldn’t struggle up a set of front porch stairs.

My wife is 66 and is currently about 35 minutes into her daily hour on the treadmill - 4 MPH and not breathing hard.

Good for her! Exercise can make a huge difference, but everyone is different - genes matter. My great grandmother lived to 105 and outlived both her sons (one being my grandfather who died at 83 (due to misdiagnosed cancer - could have been caught and stopped but who knows). My wife’s family has a history of longevity as well (90s-100+), so our kids (in their early 20s at the moment) have a good shot at passing 100 or more if they don’t do anything stupid! I’m 54 have all my hair (still pitch black except for some gray at the temples) and if I quit drinking and smoking I may make it 90. I’ll settle for 85 if I can still keep drinking :-).
