It’s a smart strategy. There are millions of people out there who haven’t seen anyone who seems to represent their interests in many years, and thus haven’t been voting. My only worry is that these are also unfortunately not the most civic-minded of people, and thus the need for a “ground game” to make sure that they actually get to the polls and vote. Some will do it on their own, but others will fail to register in time, or just forget to go on Election Day. In the meantime, the Dems will bank most of their LIV’s via absentee ballots filled out by organizers weeks before Election Day.
Best comment on FR in months. We are people who move frequently and are not registered at our new address.
So we honest people can’t vote.
But back at our old address the establishment local incumbent will see to it that someone votes on your behalf where you are still registered.
One result of HAVA is that registering to vote at a new location is now just about the only way to get taken off the registered list at the old address.
Where/Whatr is the Trump campaign plan to overcome reality?
My anecdotal evidence is that this strategy was working before they ever had a memo on it.
I know MANY older guys, mostly tradespeople, who haven’t voted in DECADES. They’ve been fired up since last summer, and are 100% faithful to the TRUMP, and absolutely WILL be voting on Nov. 8th. They’ve been licking their chops for a year now. They’ve all registered. They’ve got their wives registered. It’s for real.
Meanwhile, Bernie supporters have been disenfranchised. Some will vote 3rd party. Some will stay home. I have to think very few will vote Hillary.
