The United States ran a $161,025,400,000 merchandise trade deficit with China through the first six months of 2016 (Janaury through June), according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau today.
That deficit with China was by far the largest the U.S. accumulated with any country in the first half of the year.

Biggest transfer of wealth in world history.
Our wealth to China.
They forgot the to add in the 400 million!
Stop buying cheap crap from China. That means STOP going to WalMart, Target, CostCo, and STOP purchasing from eBay, Amazon, and OverStock.
Free Traitors:
Budget deficits are killing us! The sky is falling!
Trade Deficits are good; see we trade electronic money for durable goods.
What a bunch of hypocrites.
And whose interests does our government have in mind? Surely not its own citizens.
If you look at the box it has no markings as to where it is made.
Walmart sells US-made goods. Takes some looking, though.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You want cheap products, want it American made, and the American workers paid high wages. Nope. Pick only 2 of 3.
You want cheap products and American made. Sure. But be prepared for the American workers to be paid peanuts.
You want cheap products and American workers paid more. Sure. But be prepared for non-American made.
You want American made and American workers paid more. Sure. But be prepared to pay for more.
Each time you purchase from WalMart or eBay or Amazon or CostCo, you are contributing to the trade deficit... China, Vietnam, Mexico, whatever country the products come from.
Something tells me that 99% of those that whine about trade deficits are making their next shopping stop to WalMart or CostCo this evening.
I hope you are not trying to put words in my mouth. It’s not a requirement to pay US workers so-called “high wages” if the tax regimen and the regulatory regimen were low (certainly absent at the federal level) and thus reduced the cost of living, never mind retained the value of the dollar. Not to mention there is a difference between “cheap” (ill-made) and “affordable”.
Chicom made "Master Drill Set" at Harbor Freight. 115 piece set, cobalt, $109.99.
Whaddaya gonna do?

Chinese slaves earn $1/hr at most. They do not need healthcare, dental, 401k, disability insurance, social security, medicare, etc.
American workers now demand at least $10/hr (even Trump agrees). And they want all sorts of benefits, including 401k matching.
Can you tell me HOW businesses are going to make products “more affordable” in the US? I agree that once automation takes over, these manual drone jobs will be over. Until then, you will be paying at least 5x for pure American-made products. I am not talking about Chinese made but American label slapped products. There is no mathematical way around it.
They want to have their cake (cheap products) and eat it too (made in America). They complain about trade deficits whilst loading their WalMart cart with chinese goods. They sicken me with their hypocrisy.
Oh, and the budget deficit is killing us.
I’ve often thought the same thing. We have met the enemy and he is us.
I did. Is the current regulatory/taxation regime at the federal level really tenable, compared to its abolition?

My US-made can opener that I bought at Walmart was $10, FTR.

My household has a trade deficit with Publix. Are we transferring wealth to Publix?
“I did. Is the current regulatory/taxation regime at the federal level really tenable, compared to its abolition?”
I agree that regulations, including extorting business, and taxation, including tariffs, are unnecessary restrictions on freedom itself. Some think that their pet regulations and pet taxes are better than others. I think ALL regulations and taxes are bad.
“My US-made can opener that I bought at Walmart was $10, FTR.”
For every $10 of “US-made” can opener, you probably have purchased $1000 worth of can foodstuffs from China and Mexico. Am I wrong?
