I'm taking the Belmond Royal Scotsman today.

Day 1 : Edinburgh – Muir of Ord

The Royal Scotsman departs Edinburgh Waverley Station in the early afternoon and travels west to Stirling, with its historic castle, and on to the ‘Fair City’ of Perth. Enjoy afternoon tea as the train continues on the Highland line through Dunkeld, Pitlochry and Blair Atholl with its imposing castle.

Druimuachdar, the summit of this line, lies six miles south of Dalwhinnie, which is dominated by the pagodas of the nineteenth century distillery. On to Kingussie, before continuing north to Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park. Pass through Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, before arriving in the village of Muir of Ord where the train stables overnight.

This is their new dining car

But I'm having my breakfast in my room this morning.
