During a town hall meeting in Nevada, Mike Pence was challenged on his support for Donald Trump despite Trumps comments over the weekend criticizing a gold star family. Pence handled the situation well, first calming the crowd and then offering his respect to the person asking the question and then to the Khan family.
You have a son in the military, how do you tolerate his disrespect? the woman asked, referring to Trumps comments over the weekend criticizing Khans family. Before she even finished her question the crowd began to boo. Pence waved for them to settle down. Its all right, Pence said adding, Folks, thats what freedom looks like and thats what freedom sounds like. This brought a round of applause.
Pence turned back toward the woman, who had taken her seat, and said, Let me just say first I want to honor your sons service to the country and your familys service to the country. I truly do. This brought another round of applause.
I know this has been much in the news of late, in the last few days, but as I said last night as Donald Trump said Saturday night, Captain Khan is an American hero and we honor him and honor his family as we do all gold star families in this country, Pence said.
Pence then went beyond the talking points by adding some detail. The story of Captain Khan is an incredibly inspiring story. June 8th, 2004 he would fall in Iraq
an explosive device in a taxi, Pence said. He continued,He was awarded medals, posthumously, because like any great leader he
the accounts of that were that Captain Khan moved people out of the way, told them stay back and he went toward the danger. Honestly, again, Captain Khan is an American hero, Pence

Yes, I can say President Trump.
Can you?
I just looked up an example of your analysis. It stunk on ice. I’ll post it if you wish, but that’s for you to decide. My take away is that you see what you want to see—and are unfazed when real life events prove you to be 100 percent wrong.
You believe what you want to believe. We cheer every time that USC poll comes out but even that poll shows Hillary gaining. Yeah, she got a bump from the convention, but she is also deriving benefits from the change in focus from her misdeeds. I don’t see a downhill slide and polls are not very reliable this far out, but only those with blinders on would think that the change in conversation from Hillary’s corruption to Khan benefits Trump and not Hillary.
And we would hope that some folks on this board who say Trump should be like every failed POTUS candidate for the last 28 years wouldn’t want this one to also apologize and curl into a little ball like some people here.
See what I mean? No, of course you don’t.
Everything Trump does is calculated. He is in complete contrtol.
Thanks to Trump fighting back after a slimy sharia pushing, Muslim brotherhood immigration lawyer attacked him on the stage of the DNC the whole country now knows who kazir Khan is. The POS has had to delete his Muslim immigration website because he’s starting to feel the heat.
John McStain and Mitt Romney didn’t fight back against Dem attacks and they both lost.
You need to smarten up so you can keep up.
‘You believe what you want to believe.’
The irony.
I can't imagine Manafort, or Trump for that matter, thinking their response to Khan was beneficial to the mission. It would also be hard to believe that Trump has surrounded himself with yes men who offer no critique of his responses or counseling about managing future situation. All candidates make mistakes, even though you appear to believe otherwise, but those that learn from them persevere. I think Trump has learned from this and that's a good thing being that it is still early.
No, he is winning with women because the pollsters, who are flunkies in statistics, haven’t bothered to stratify their sampling to pick up an accurate portion of Independent women who lean in a majority to Trump. Their sampling plans are ruined in any event by the 90% nonresponse, skewing responses to left leaning females.
In 2010, Independents comprised 24% of the electorate.
In 2014, Independents comprised 42% of the electorate.
There’s a very good reason why that flip occurred.
Independents of either gender break for Trump by large margins.
Pollsters today are using 2010 registration data and are missing Independents by more than 10%. Thus, they oversample democrats.
If you’re putting trust in ‘polls’, you’re revealing yourself in unflattering ways.
A better signal of where women stand with Trump is in surveying social media and noting the numbers that show up at Trump rallies.
I did - to you, shill.
Get out.
“The republicans should be talking about those facts in every encounter they have with the media. Instead, we’re talking about some meaningless Muslim for five days now.”
So when a baseless attack is for the hundredth time leveled against Trump should he just ignore it?
And if so how has that strategy worked for the last 5 gop POTUS or candidates?
Ignore the baseless attacks and the false narrative still becomes true in people’s minds much like Bush never responding to Iraq war untruths/negative progaganda and Romney killing people’s wives and not caring about them. You have seen elsewhere that Khan is now totally in retreat, correct? Would ignoring Khan and “focusing on Hillary” have produced that result?
Trump and his staff can walk and chew gum at the same time. Don’t worry there are 14 - 18 waking hours in a day. Trump can respond to these baseless attacks and attack Hillary on other fronts as well. People can also pay attention as well.
*Yawn*
You couldn’t even comprehend my post. You thought I was talking about Trump when I used the word “flagrant” but I was clearly referring to Hillary. Hard to be objective when you can’t be objective.
“The only reason Khan gets coverage is because the candidate engages the conversation.”
No the reason Khan gets coverage is because that’s what’s on the media’s playbook that day or week. Much like in football the defense can’t tell the offense what plays it can or can’t run. The media won’t deviate from the playbook.
Trump is playing good defense and taking the play away from them. Notice the retreat by Khan (saying he wants to disengage, scrubbing his web site.
Pence handles it his way and that’s fine but Trump needs to handle it his way.
‘All candidates make mistakes, even though you appear to believe otherwise’
On what basis do you posit this lie?
I have no idea what you're talking about now.
Better for you to yawn than to give me the go ahead to post what I found. It’s truly delusional.
I just reread every post you’ve made to me and you didn’t use the word ‘flagrant’ in any of them. Is your blood sugar getting low?
I will keep you in mind when I get a reply (if any)
