It’s not just McShame’s stupid comments. I have seen a lot on FR jump on the Khan band wagon. Yet, I fail to see where Mr Trump said anything bad about the Khans. Believe me. I have searched high and low. In fact, It was Mr Khan who came out at the DNC angry and combative.

It’s called “3rd rail politics” because if you touch it you’re dead. In the conventional sense there are topics that politicians avoid like the plague because they know that they will be ground up no matter what they do or say. Trump is different because he has positioned himself as an un-politician who isn’t afraid to tell the truth or speak his mind.
We’ve all seen the videos of Dan Quayle and the “potatoe” scandal and George Allen and his “macaca” moment - these were moments when candidates innocently mis-spoke and it derailed their respective campaigns. Those squeamish FReepers remember those moments all too well and don’t want to see Trump in similar straights.
The problem with Quayle and Allen was that they were honorable but naive. They thought (wrongly) that they were dealing with similarly honorable professionals in the press - they weren’t.
I don’t believe that Trump has any blinders as to the innate evil of the lamestream media. So far what I’ve seen is that he runs circles around the best of them.
