No. I want all gun purchase records maintained only at the point of sale and destroyed after 90 days. To the extent that we have background checks, those should not include identifying information on the weapon, just on the potential buyer. If you’re okay to buy a rifle, then you’re okay to buy a rifle, without specifying that it is a 30-06 made by Remington, with serial number whatever.
I hope Congress will pass a law mandating destruction of those records and that Trump will sign it. The whole point is that FedGov should have no idea where to start in disarming Americans, to make it less likely that we will follow that path to civil war.
And I want all big brother bureaucrats impaled by their anuses onto the new white house gate toppers, but that isn’t going to happen either.

The same arguments for and against were made in the 1920s in the chaos of Germany’s Weimar Republic, which opted for gun registration. I hope Trump announces that he will not fight extradition to Meh-e-coh for any of the supervisory agents, lawyers, and managers at the DOJ, FBI, BATF for Fast & Furious crimes committed against Meh-e-coh. His Arrogance can pardon them for federal crimes but not for international crimes (gun running, money laundering, etc.).
Like wasting a large amount of limited law enforcement resources keeping track of the firearms of law abiding citizens.
