To: Former Proud Canadian

They are not a rapid response force, they are a follow on force. Tactically they are a very flexible and rapidly moving force due to thier helicopters. Strategically, it just takes a while to move all that stuff. Apaches amd Blachhawks are great birds, you just don’t want go and fly then across oceans

The Marines, who are forward deployed can get small forces with a little bit of everything anywhere quickly. The 82nd Airborne can get a lot of lightly equipped soldiers anywhere very quickly.

There is always a trade off between speed and combat power. Do you want it fast, heavy,or a massed force? Pick two of the three.
