Presenting both sides is appropriate:

Almost 29,000 Islamic terrorist attacks in the past 15 years, widely celebrated by Muslims.
https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

Over 100 IRA (with claimed ties to Catholicism) terrorist attacks, ending 15 years ago, and for the most part condemned by Catholics.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents_in_Great_Britain

Yes. Both sides have committed terrorism. No, there is no real parallel.

STFU Francis!

These guys aren’t killing because of the Crusades (and BTW, one of my ancestors was hunted and murdered for allowing Calvinists to escape a sentence of death). These guys are killing because they like killing. It’s an absence of the indwelling Spirit thing.

Quit being a weenie, as you peer out from behind some of the best security in the world.

Back in Christ’s time, this pope would have been a Pharisee. He sure speaks like one.

To quote that great philosopher Geezer Butler:

"Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope?

Do you think he's a fool?"

This Pope is a dope. He's doing more to harm the Catholic church by driving people away and creating dissension with his insane remarks.

Hey Pope-a-dope: why don't you study up on the religion of peace by studying this website and then retract your ignorant remarks!

... the Pope replied that he doesn’t like speaking about Islamic violence because there is plenty of Christian violence as well.

WHERE IS THE CHRISTIAN VIOLENCE? This pope is a disgrace. I pray that new crusades are coming but they haven't started yet.

Angela Merkels Pope will be touting the progressive party line until he becomes a direct victim of those he now protects.

The inquisition was bad, but it wasn’t nearly the length or depth of wickedness of the religion of Obama’s father.

the Pope replied that he doesn’t like speaking about Islamic violence because there is plenty of Christian violence as well.

Well, there WAS plenty of Christian violence if you count the Crusades, but the Saracens were pretty violent too.

And for the pope to say "there is plenty of Christian violence as well", that's puzzling. It depends on what the meaning of "is" is, but it's kind of a stretch to use "is" since that was a millenium ago.

But unless the pope knows something we don't, I'd have to reply there aren't any imperialistic, violent armed groups spreading war and terror in the name of Christianity that I know of.

So yeah, we get it. You're one of "those" popes. South American "liberation theology", unless I'm wrong.

Unfortunately, you seem to have been seduced by Marxist "theology", when your life guide is supposed to be the Holy Bible.

I’m sick of this liberal jerk.

Self-hating white European westerner.

Get a clue: the New Test in particular nor the Bible in general commands ANYWHERE for Jews/Christians to kill for the faith.

Huge difference.

The Catholic church seems to have abandoned Christ’s teachings in favor of moral equivalency as the new scripture.

The “Red Pope” has spoken.

I would not be a member of a church that hade the likes of this man as its leader.

Just proves the point that a pope is not in any way a messenger of, or substitute for, God or Christ. When my Catholic friend told me that when there’s a conflict between the Bible’s teachings and the pope’s decrees, the pope ALWAYS supersedes the Bible. (Sadly, she is in the pope’s corner on this one — a flaming libtard.)

If the pope had been gifted with some mysterious, superhuman qualities of knowledge and discernment when the smoke came out of the chimney, wouldn’t he “get” the truth about the Crusades?
