The MassGOPs one-time national committeewoman will helm a push by social conservatives to put the states newly signed transgender rights law to a ballot question, nudging the state party led by bill signer, Gov. Charlie Baker into an awkward position.
Chanel Prunier, who lost her seat as the states national committeewoman this spring, has signed on as chairwoman of the ballot question committee, Keep Massachusetts Safe, which will push to repeal the law Baker signed earlier this month that bans discrimination against transgender people in public places, including restaurants, bathrooms and locker rooms.
The laws opponents have petitioned to put a question on the 2018 ballot when Baker will presumably be running for re-election and are in the midst of gathering the more than 32,000 signatures they need to move forward.

While I appreciate the attempt, I remember in 2007 how the legislature wouldn’t allow us to put gay “marriage” on the ballot -because they feared we wouldn’t vote “correctly”. Why should I believe this will end any differently?
