The Greater Columbus Convention Center is a Yuge venue. The Grand Battelle Hall can easily hold 6,500 people if they can scrounge up enough chairs and there are additional smaller halls with monitors for any overflow. Also, there are tons of great restaurants in the area. I've been there a couple of times. Mitchell's Fish Market highly recommended!

As for the high school, that is a YUGE looking auditorium! I can't find the capacity online but it looks more like a stadium than an auditorium.
