Cuban is a rather unfortunate last name for an American. Sort of like old days’s Isis.
Real name Mark Chabenisky. Name was changed by his grandfather who I believe was a Russian Jew. Many of the communists who came to this country during the ‘20s were, ironically, Russian or Eastern European Jews. Some had an epiphany and became staunch conservatives. (see David Horowitz)
