Now-former Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz didn't only damage her committee's image by organizing a primary process that all but disenfranchised Bernie Sanders voters - it also damaged her own political career.
The Florida congresswoman faces a tough reelection campaign this November in the form of challenger Tim Canova - especially after the Wikileaks DNC email hack. Canova has taken advantage of Wasserman Schultz's scandals to prove she is too establishment and doesn't deserve two more years representing the constituents of Florida's 23rd district. He has insisted he would be a better champion for progressive causes.
This week, Canova is crediting Wasserman Schultz with a major fundraising bump.
Canova said he raised $125,000 on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Wasserman Schultz announced her resignation on Sunday. On Monday afternoon, she said she wouldn't gavel the convention to order and wouldn't be speaking at the quadrennial event.
"That's a lot for two days. And it was certainly a kick from what had happened to Debbie," Canova said.
If Wasserman Schultz loses her reelection bid, but Hillary Clinton wins the White House, she will still have a job. Clinton asked Wasserman Schultz to join her presidential campaign right after she announced her resignation from the DNC.
Would it be too much to hope for that Debbie Washerwoman Schultz gets Cantorized in the primary?
Sorry, the article does say November. Is this Canova a Republican who wants to represent progressives?
Is her district virtually all New York transplants or something? Can’t imagine her appeal otherwise.
No. Canova is to the left of Debbie Blabbermouth. Yes, they exist.
In Hillary’s eyes, Debbie WAS promoted. For her tilting the scales and leaving the Internet gates open, she gets a plum job on the Clinton campaign.
Hillary had to do this to keep Debbie quiet, but Crooked Hillary is now additionally weighted down with Dubious Debbie. Who but an unethical harridan would hire another unethical harridan?
If Hillary wins, she will be taken care of. Debbie was the campaign manager for Hillary’s first run in 2008. Hillary maneuvered her into the chairman position herself, for the purpose of rigging the election.
I found another article which said he is challenging her in the Democrat primary, Aug 30, pretty late.
I hope he Cantorizes her.
“Clinton asked Wasserman Schultz to join her presidential campaign”.
To keep Debbie from spilling the beans on her and Hillary’s scam to help get Hill elected and NOT Bernie.
DWS Screwed Up #3 word Hillary....
Him, her; both “progressives,” both likely dirty as hell. What’s the difference, they’re both democrats?
You mean he’s worse than Blabbermouth Schultz? Wow I can’t believe it.
“Sorry, the article does say November. Is this Canova a Republican who wants to represent progressives?”
1. Article is incorrect.
2. No.
Please check your spellchecker. There is no such word a Cantorize
Oh my! Little Debbie cupcakes in trouble!
Since then, the election results are not encouraging for Conservatives.
In 2012, Obama beat Romney in that District by 62%-38%.
In 2012 and 2014, D.W.S. won both her elections with about 63% of the vote.
Her district includes Miami Beach and much of west Broward County, so you have to assume a large Jewish vote and a large New York state transplant vote.
More than 40% of her District is Hispanic, but less than 10% are Cuban - not good for the GOP.
12% of her District is Black.
There is since June of 2014 when we threw the weasel Eric Cantor out of office for betraying the citizens.
I am hoping the good people of Wisconsin 1 do the same to their weasel Paul Ryan.
That district has been gerrymandered to represent every ghetto from Miami to Ft Pierce, and that’s a lot.
Isn't it up to the voters of Wisconsin if they want to keep Paul Ryan or not? Also I am just curious how you felt about Paul when he was Mitt Romney's running mate in the 2012 presidential election. Many in here couldn't praise him enough and said they voted only for him and not Mitt Romney
