I live and work around a lot of the Bernie types described therein. I was basically raised to be one. Not the street urchins that you see hanging around the DNC, but just well-educated, well-behaved, well-meaning civilized ultra-liberals. I respect them actually, if you go to the places where they live (again as distinguished from Hillary supporters, who are generally the masters and slaves on the urban plantations), the schools are good, there’s very little crime, the kids are well-cared for, everything’s clean and quiet. It’s just that they are wedded politically to an ideology that they think is altruistic, but it’s an unrealistic assessment of the basis of their own quality of life, which is Western civilization, Judeo-Christian ethics, capitalism, and the American way of life. They think that it’s all ill-gotten gains that they should feel guilty for, and somehow if they elect a Bernie type magically everyone else will also be able to participate in it. They just haven’t really thought it through, and until they’re slapped in the fact by some type of realization, they won’t.
You’re going to catch crap for that but I’m basically with you. The truly evil types among the Sanders crowd are few and far between, with the rest well-intentioned but misguided.
That’s a stark contrast to the Clinton crowd where the well-intentioned types are few and far between.
Sanders supporters got an education in the real world this year like no other. It’ll be real interesting to see where it leads them.
