You are probably right to a great degree, for the president can be a pain in the butt to the intelligence community, but not much else. Most hard intelligence information is gathered by CIA operatives on the ground, and a world-wide network of gathering stations reporting to the NSA. The president, whomever he/she may be, can be an inconvenience to them, but they won’t get too ruffled regardless. The NSA will spoon-feed information to the president and the candidates as they see fit, and none will see anything they (NSA) feel is inappropriate.
When you see rotten news from around the world, rest assured there is probably ten times as much going on that you don’t see, and neither will Congress, Hillary, the FBI or Trump.
Think about that for a moment...
