In related but unreported news, it has now been 3930 days (10.76 years) since the last major hurricane (Force 3 or above) has made landfall in the US. This completely obliterates the last record calm spell (6.11 years) set in 1906.

Since Global Warming predicts more and more hurricanes of greater and greater intensity, this record shattering calm period is proof of...wait for it...Global Warming.
