My friend was pulled over for something and when he came back from checking on her license, he said, "do you have your gun with you? I see your a CCW holder". She said no, not today. He said, "why not, go home and get your gun, don't leave home without it".

Small town in southern Oregon, can you believe it? We also have a constitutional sheriff, John Hanlin, the teaparty sent him to Sheriff Macks constitutional sheriff class. He agreed if we paid for the class, he would go. Perhaps you saw him on TV when Roseburg, OR had the college shooting, by a black Muslim, but that fact was swept under the rug.

Our Constitutional Sherriff is retiring and his probable successor, depending on the coming election, sounds like he tends that way, too. Back when shooting pets was a widespread must-do for police forces around the country, two dogs were shot in a month here after none had been shot by police in my memory, at least. Our sherriff had meetings with all the local police forces in the county and explained to them that they were all trained how to handle aggressive dogs. He also explained that any more dog killing for any reason at all would cost the offending officer his job and get him bad recommendations. It hasn’t happened since. The sheriff can’t actually fire small town policemen but he can make things terribly difficult for the town police force if they don’t fire the dog killer.
