I do know what I would do. I was in a shooting at my company, ESL in Sunnyvale, Ca.
One of the mistakes people made was running outside the building and standing in the parking lot. You actually need to run far away. I ran through one building to the one even further away.
What made me mad is then they didn’t let us leave the buidling complex until he turned himself in 5 hours later.
People at my complex climbed up in the dropped ceilings.
I don’t like that they don’t teach kuds to run away. I told my kids to ignore their teachers and run far away.

Me too. Of course, there are never any guarantees, but if the shooting is on the other side of the school it seems better to run away than hunker down in a classroom.
