PHILADELPHIA – Chelsea Clinton touched on the significance of her mother, Hillary Clinton, becoming the first woman to lead a major party’s ticket just hours before the nomination became official Tuesday night.
Clinton admitted being “deeply biased” toward her mother while speaking at the “Cocktails & Conversation” event hosted by Facebook and Glamour Magazine at the Democratic National Convention. She said Hillary Clinton’s nomination for president gives young girls something to dream about.
“I think it’s really hard for any of us to imagine what we can’t see,” Clinton said. “And so I just am really proud that little girls will be able to redirect their imaginations in other ways, because my mother will have broken down this barrier.”
Clinton was joined by actresses America Ferrera and Lena Dunham, who have stumped for Hillary Clinton from early in the candidate’s campaign. Ferrera also campaigned for the former senator in 2008.
“The fact that we’re making history today and she’s our first woman nominee can never be reversed,” Ferrera said. “None of us have to do that ever again, we never have to be the first again. … Now our daughters, many who don’t exist yet and some who do, will now never know, never, ever, ever, ever have to know why that’s a special thing.”
Dunham challenged the common refrain that voters shouldn’t elect the former secretary of state just because they’re ready to see a female president.
“I keep thinking to myself, we’re not only so lucky to be facing this moment when a woman can be a candidate for president of the United States, we’re so lucky that it’s this woman,” she said.
Later Tuesday, Ferrera and Dunham took the stage together at the convention, delivering a little schtick challenging Republican nominee Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric.

Chelsea is no longer satisfied to hold the position of caporegime in La Famiglia. She want’s momma to win, so she one day inherits the family business.
I’d be surprised if she were allowed to get anywhere near the DNC podium. Unlike the Trump kids.
Lena is an actress alright, especially when it comes to pretending she was sexually assaulted by a republican.
Do most girls dream about a loveless marriage and turning into a crippled, burnout alcoholic? Who knew?
Little girls dream about spending years in a cold, loveless marriage of convenience to a serial philanderer? Humiliating themselves to cover up for his crimes, solely to gain political power?
Thatcher is an exception. So was Kathryn Kuhlman. But in our sick modern society the exception has become the rule to the point of excluding the alternative which until the last few decades was how young girls and women were raised. And there are a lot of lost and sad women out there as a result. The godless values of the modern world and culture have been very destructive to women, men, children, and the family.
Yeah, young girls can dream of 600K do-nothing jobs because a family member sells political influence and State secrets.

yep, they can all dream of becoming a QUEEN OF CRIME and run a criminal organization that controls the US political system by thug tactics of threats, murders and Arkancides. Yep, they can dream.
Marriage and home and family are good things. That being said...wouldn’t it be something if, one day, a good, common-sense female conservative with a supportive husband and well-behaved children ran for President? That would be something a parent would be proud to tell their daughter is a possibility.
I may get excoriated for saying this, but “barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen makin’ me a sammich” shouldn’t be ALL a girl is to accomplish in life.

True. I've been saying since last year that Trump is Jehu. (I voted for Cruz because I thought he was David, but he turned out to be Absalom, so I'm glad he lost.)

These people are so condescending and full of themselves. They really believe that little girls or black children need the likes of Hillary, Obozo and Michelle to marvel at and inspire them. There are plenty of far better and far more successful role models in American life than these three sorry excuses for leaders.
A $600K ‘job’ and a $10M condo, perhaps?
